Description

The 81st Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base is requesting a contract to provide annual maintenance and repairs to their existing medical controlled temperature monitoring equipment, as well as, Access Control Systems. The current equipment was manufactured by Rees Scientific Corporation.

The Rees system and its Z3 Wireless technology employ continuously updated trade-secret codes and processes. In order to properly service, validate, update, and maintain the system; Rees Scientific Corporation must certify the technicians who work on the software and hardware. Rees Scientific Corporation does not authorize third party vendors to perform maintenance or service on their proprietary systems. Service performed to a Rees system, or software overlays by unauthorized agents, can cause partial or complete system shut down or failure of critical applications. Systems with improper documented service and updates can be in violation of procedures and policies during audits by governing and independent agencies. Using third party or unauthorized vendors to service or overlay software could comprise the entire system and regulatory compliance. Validation and system security would be breeched if a non-certified vendor worked on any Rees Scientific system or its components.

They are requesting an initial 12 months of service, from 20 July 2023 – 19 July 2024 with an option to extend service for an additional 36 months, from 20 July 2024 – 19 July 2027. This is a notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source contract to Rees Scientific Corporation.to provide the required maintenance and repairs. Points of contact are Mrs. Carolynn Benn, Contract Specialist carolynn.j.benn.civ@health.mil and Ms. Michelle Bartkowski, Contracting Officer michelle.m.bartkowski.civ@health.mil.
